Every registered lobbyist has to disclose any "covered position" they held in the federal government — a job in a congressional office, on a committee, or in the executive branch. We pull those disclosures from Lobbying Disclosure Act filings, match the former offices to current and former members of Congress, and map the clients to stock tickers. The result: which public companies have hired people off Capitol Hill, and whose offices they came from. Each row reflects what was disclosed at the time of filing, so a lobbyist listed here may no longer be registered.

A filing shows that a lobbyist was registered for that client when the filing was made, not that they are still lobbying today. Offices include those of current and former members of Congress. "Former office" is parsed from the free-text covered-position field on each filing and matched to members of Congress by name, so some offices are matched imperfectly or not at all; where a match is uncertain we show the position as written. Tickers marked with a question mark were matched by company name rather than an exact identifier. A lobbyist appears once per filing per client, so the same person can appear in several rows. Only the most recent 1,500 filings are shown in the table; the leaderboards and headline numbers cover the full dataset.
