PennyMac Mortgage Investment Trust (PMT) reported second-quarter 2026 net income attributable to common shareholders of $20 million, or $0.23 per diluted share, on net investment income of $73 million.
The mortgage REIT reported a 6% annualized return on common equity, book value of $14.83 per share at quarter end and a $0.40 dividend declared per common share.
- Net investment income: $73 million, up 4% from the second quarter of 2025 and down 11% from the prior quarter.
- Common shareholder net income: $20 million, compared with $14 million in the prior quarter and a $3 million loss a year earlier.
- Securitizations: PMT closed six securitizations totaling $2.2 billion in unpaid principal balance and generated $120 million of net new investments in non-Agency subordinate bonds.
- Loan acquisitions: Correspondent production acquisitions were $2.6 billion in UPB, down 8% sequentially and 17% year over year.
- Portfolio actions: PMT agreed to sell $13 billion in UPB of Agency mortgage servicing rights and stopped acquiring Agency-eligible conventional loans through its correspondent channel.
