San Juan Basin Royalty Trust Declares No September 2026 Cash Distribution

San Juan Basin Royalty Trust (NYSE: SJT) said it will not declare a monthly cash distribution for September 2026, citing excess production costs from prior periods and continued low natural gas prices.

Hilcorp reported $4.29 million in total revenue from the Trust’s Subject Interests for July 2026, while production costs were $5.42 million. The Trust’s net cumulative excess production-cost balance was approximately $9.42 million.

  • July gas revenue totaled $4.12 million, while oil revenue totaled $176,768.
  • July production costs included $2.92 million of lease operating expenses, $385,466 of severance taxes, and $2.11 million of capital costs.
  • Gas production totaled 2.05 million Mcf in July, compared with 1.95 million Mcf in June.
  • The average July gas price was $2.01 per Mcf, up from $1.46 per Mcf in June.
  • The Trust’s line of credit principal balance is expected to reach $1.08 million after a $44,606 draw for September administrative expenses.
