JBSS Fourth-Quarter Sales Rise 4.2% as Diluted EPS Falls to $0.71

John B. Sanfilippo & Son (JBSS) reported fiscal 2026 fourth-quarter net sales of $280.4 million, up 4.2% from the prior-year quarter, while net income fell to $8.4 million from $13.5 million.

Diluted earnings per share declined 38.3% to $0.71. For fiscal 2026, net sales rose 6.2% to $1.18 billion and diluted EPS increased 4.6% to $5.26.

  • Fourth-quarter sales volume increased 1.4% to 87.4 million pounds.
  • Fourth-quarter gross profit declined 9.5% to $44.1 million, with gross margin at 15.7%.
  • Full-year net income increased to $61.9 million from $58.9 million.
  • CEO Jeffrey T. Sanfilippo said he will step down as CEO in October and become executive chairman; Jasper Sanfilippo will succeed him as CEO.
  • The company declared an annual dividend of $0.95 per share and a special dividend of $1.05 per share, both payable September 9, 2026.
