Comcast Launches Xfinity Shield, Combining WiFi, AI and Home Security

Comcast ($CMCSA) launched Xfinity Shield, a new home-protection platform combining network-level cybersecurity, WiFi-based motion detection and family controls inside the Xfinity app. The service is available nationwide to eligible Xfinity Internet customers, with a paid tier adding cameras, sensors and emergency-response features.

  • WiFi Shield is included at no additional cost for customers with Advanced Xfinity Gateways and includes CyberSecure, WiFi Motion and family device controls.
  • Shield Select costs $15 per month and adds an indoor camera, door/window sensor, cloud video storage and 24/7 urgent response.
