United Fire Group UFCS Q2 net income rises to $33.4 million

United Fire Group (UFCS) reported second-quarter 2026 net income of $33.4 million, or $1.29 per diluted share, up from $22.9 million, or $0.87 per diluted share, a year earlier. Total revenues were $383.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

The company said net written premium rose 9% to $406.4 million, net investment income increased 33% to $28.9 million and the combined ratio improved to 95.3%.

  • Net earned premium was $354.1 million, compared with $314.8 million in the prior-year quarter.
  • Adjusted operating income was $33.7 million, or $1.30 per diluted share.
  • Book value per share was $38.02 as of June 30, 2026, up from $36.88 at Dec. 31, 2025.
  • Return on equity was 13.2% for the six months ended June 30, 2026.
  • The company declared and paid a $0.20 per share cash dividend during the quarter.
