Toyota Exits Entire Uber Stake in Q2 2026 After Eight-Year Autonomous Driving Investment

Toyota Motor ($TM) closed its entire position in Uber Technologies ($UBER) during the second quarter of 2026, according to its latest 13F filing. Toyota previously held 5,125,868 Uber shares, valued at approximately $368.7 million at the end of March, ending an investment relationship that began with a $500 million autonomous-driving agreement in 2018.

  • Toyota reported holding no Uber shares as of June 30, down from 5.13 million shares in the prior quarter.
  • The companies' 2018 agreement centered on integrating their autonomous-driving systems into Toyota vehicles for Uber's ride-sharing network.
  • Toyota had already reduced its Uber position by roughly half in 2022 after Uber sold its autonomous-driving unit to Aurora Innovation.
  • The filing also shows Toyota exited its 47.35 million-share position in Aurora during the quarter.
  • Toyota retained major positions in Joby Aviation and Grab Holdings.
