Representative Gabe Evans introduces H.R. 10312: SBA Spanish Resource Report Act

None

We have received text from H.R. 10312: SBA Spanish Resource Report Act. This bill was received on 2026-09-08, and currently has 6 cosponsors.

Here is a short summary of the bill:

This bill would require the Small Business Administration (SBA) to prepare a report within 180 days of enactment describing the Spanish-language resources and services currently available through SBA programs.

What the report would cover

The report would need to include:

  • An inventory of Spanish-language materials and services offered through SBA programs, such as websites, application forms, guidance documents, outreach materials, and customer service support.
  • A description of Spanish-language resources available through SBA partners, including:
    • Small Business Development Centers
    • Women’s Business Centers
    • SCORE chapters
    • Veteran Business Outreach Centers
  • Data, if available, on how these Spanish-language resources and services are being used, including any geographic patterns.
  • A description of spending tied to translation, interpretation, outreach, contractor support, technology, and other related administrative costs.
  • An assessment of any operational or administrative issues involved in providing Spanish-language resources and services.
  • Any recommendations from the SBA Administrator on how to manage these existing resources and services more efficiently.

Public release and follow-up

The report would have to be submitted to the House and Senate small business committees in unclassified form and posted publicly on an SBA website. Within 30 days after the report is submitted, the SBA Administrator would also have to give those committees a briefing on the report.

Limits of the bill

The bill specifically says it would not require the SBA to create, expand, reduce, or eliminate any Spanish-language resource or service. It is a reporting requirement only.
