Nancy Pelosi Discloses First-Ever Bloom Energy Trade, Adds to Intel Bet Amid AI Power Boom

Quiver Data Analyst

Nancy Pelosi disclosed a new multimillion-dollar bet on Bloom Energy ($BE) alongside another investment in Intel ($INTC), marking her first-ever disclosed Bloom Energy trade. The purchases come as Bloom rapidly expands its role powering AI infrastructure — including an existing relationship with Intel — while lobbying the federal government on fuel cells, data-center power and energy policy.

  • Pelosi disclosed purchasing 15,000 Bloom Energy shares and 200 BE call options, making this her first reported trade in the company. The options represent contracts on as many as 20,000 additional shares if they are standard 100-share contracts.
  • She also purchased 10,000 Intel shares and 50 INTC call options, adding to the 200 Intel $50-strike calls with a March 2027 expiration that she disclosed purchasing on May 29.
  • The disclosed transaction-value ranges across the Bloom and Intel purchases total $3 million to $12 million, although congressional disclosure ranges do not reveal the exact amount invested.
  • The Bloom purchase comes during a major expansion of its AI-power business. In April, Bloom announced an expanded agreement with Oracle supporting up to 2.8 GW of fuel-cell capacity, including 1.2 GW already being deployed across U.S. projects. Earlier this month, Bloom said its AI infrastructure business spans nearly two dozen customers and approximately 250 MW outside that Oracle agreement.
  • Bloom and Intel are directly connected: Bloom has supplied fuel-cell power to Intel's Santa Clara data center since 2014 and announced an expansion in 2024 that it said would create Silicon Valley's largest fuel-cell-powered high-performance computing data center.
  • Bloom has also been active in Washington. A Q2 2026 disclosure reported $60,000 in lobbying on federal tax treatment of fuel cells, electrolyzers, hydrogen and carbon capture, including implementation of the One Big Beautiful Bill. Earlier disclosures also covered energy-delivery challenges associated with data centers and AI infrastructure.
  • Bloom's latest quarterly filing says its strategy is increasingly centered on onsite power as electricity demand grows and traditional grid connections become constrained; the company has also warned that permitting and political opposition to data-center development could affect its business.
