Merck & Co. (MRK) reported second-quarter 2026 worldwide sales of $16.6 billion, up 5% from a year earlier, or 4% excluding foreign exchange. The company posted a GAAP net loss attributable to Merck of $1.335 billion and a GAAP diluted loss per share of $0.54.
The company said results included a $2.31-per-share charge tied to its acquisition of Terns Pharmaceuticals. Merck raised and narrowed its full-year 2026 sales outlook to $66.3 billion to $67.3 billion.
- KEYTRUDA and KEYTRUDA QLEX sales were $8.4 billion, including $463 million from KEYTRUDA QLEX.
- WINREVAIR sales rose 75% to $588 million.
- Animal Health sales increased 8% to $1.8 billion.
- Pipeline updates included FDA approval of LIPFENDRA and positive Phase 3 data for an investigational once-weekly oral HIV treatment regimen with Gilead.
- Business development included completion of the $6.8 billion Terns acquisition.
