MGE Energy Reports Q2 2026 Net Income of $33.4 Million

MGE Energy (MGEE) reported second-quarter 2026 GAAP earnings of $33.4 million, or $0.89 per share, compared with $26.5 million, or $0.72 per share, in the prior-year period.

Operating revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, were $161.2 million, compared with $159.5 million a year earlier. Electric segment earnings rose $3.0 million from 2025, while gas net income remained stable.

  • Second-quarter 2026 net income was $33.353 million.
  • Diluted earnings per share were $0.89, up from $0.72 in the second quarter of 2025.
  • Basic earnings per share were $0.89, compared with $0.73 a year earlier.
  • Investment gains contributed about $3.9 million, including returns from venture capital funds.
  • Six-month 2026 net income was $81.834 million on operating revenues of $403.898 million.
