Ellington Financial Q2 net income reaches $58 million as book value rises

Ellington Financial Inc. (EFC) reported second-quarter 2026 net income of $58.0 million. Net income attributable to common stockholders was $54.4 million, or $0.43 per common share, for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Book value per common share was $13.61 as of June 30, 2026, including $0.39 per common share of dividends for the quarter. Adjusted Distributable Earnings, a non-GAAP measure, were $75.5 million, or $0.60 per common share.

  • Investment portfolio segment net income attributable to common stockholders was $74.2 million, or $0.59 per common share.
  • Longbridge segment net income attributable to common stockholders was $30.2 million, or $0.24 per common share.
  • Longbridge originated $589.7 million of loans during the quarter, up 38% from the same period in 2025.
  • Recourse debt-to-equity ratio was 1.9 to 1 as of June 30, 2026, excluding borrowings collateralized by U.S. Treasury securities.
  • Total unencumbered assets were $1.86 billion, including $247.5 million of cash and cash equivalents.
  • The company scheduled a conference call for August 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. Eastern Time.
