Dollar General Q2 Revenue Hits $11.3 Billion as EPS Rises 33%

Dollar General (DG) reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 net sales of $11.3 billion, up 5.2% from a year earlier. Net income rose 33.8% to $550.3 million, while diluted earnings per share increased 33.3% to $2.48.

The retailer raised its fiscal 2026 outlook, projecting net sales growth of about 4.0% to 4.3% and diluted EPS of approximately $7.80 to $8.00.

  • Same-store sales increased 3.5%, driven by a 2.0% increase in customer traffic and a 1.5% increase in average transaction amount.
  • Operating profit rose 29.2% to $769.2 million.
  • Dollar General opened 126 stores during the quarter, including one in Mexico, and declared a quarterly dividend of $0.59 per share.
  • The company expects up to $700 million in share repurchases during fiscal 2026.
