Boeing ($BA) said it has completed a Federal Aviation Administration capstone review allowing the company to increase 737 Max production to 47 aircraft per month from 42, with CEO Kelly Ortberg saying the higher output rate should be reached within the next couple of months. Ortberg also highlighted Boeing’s recent 200-aircraft commitment from China, the company’s first major Chinese commercial jet order since 2017.

  • China recently committed to purchase 200 Boeing aircraft during President Trump’s trip to Beijing.
  • Chinese airlines and subsidiaries have ordered or committed to roughly 700 Airbus aircraft since mid-2022.
  • According to Boeing’s lobbying disclosures, the company spent millions lobbying on commercial aviation, aerospace supply chains, defense appropriations, NASA authorization legislation, tariffs, and aviation safety issues between 2020 and 2026.
  • Recent filings also referenced lobbying tied to FY2027 defense appropriations, trade policy, and commercial aerospace manufacturing programs.
