Quiver MCP Setup

(with ChatGPT)

Quiver hosts a remote MCP server that gives ChatGPT access to data on congressional trading activity, government contracts, lobbying spend, patents, SEC filings, dark pool activity, and multi-dataset company analysis. Follow the steps below to get connected. We’ll be using ChatGPT for this example, but it’s pretty easy to connect to most other major LLMs in a similar fashion.

Step 1: Log into ChatGPT

Step 2: Connect ChatGPT to the MCP Server

You'll also need an API key. If you don't have one, you'll need to get one from Quiver API.

Head to your profile icon at the bottom left corner of the screen and click on Settings. You will have to toggle on developer mode under Securities and Login first.

Once you have done that, a plus button will appear when you go to the Plugins tab. Click on it, then paste in the following url in the URL field:

https://mcp.quiverquant.com/

A browser window will open. Make sure to sign in with the same email associated with your QuiverQuant account, and ensure it has an active API subscription. Click Allow.

Step 3: View Available Tools

To check what tools the MCP server has available, you can easily send a prompt to ChatGPT asking for them.

Tools are the specific capabilities ChatGPT gains through the MCP server. When you ask ChatGPT a question, it automatically draws on the relevant tools to inform its answer.

Step 4: Ask ChatGPT a Question

Now that the server is connected, try asking things like "What stocks have members of Congress traded in the last 30 days?", "Show me recent insider transactions for NVDA", or "Which companies are the biggest lobbying spenders right now?" ChatGPT will automatically use the connected tools when they're relevant to your request, and you can see which tools it's using as it works.
