What AI could be used for

A party in an arbitration would be allowed to use artificial intelligence for certain tasks, including:

• helping deliver a final decision to the parties.

Consent requirement

AI could only be used if each party in the arbitration gives written consent and agrees to use it.

Limits on challenging the outcome

If a party agrees to use AI, that party could not ask a court to overturn, change, or correct the arbitration award only because the AI made an error.

What AI would not be allowed

The bill says generative AI could not be used in arbitrations under this law. It also states that the new rule would not change the existing arbitration procedures themselves.

Practical effect

In plain terms, the bill would create a framework for using non-generative AI tools in arbitration, but only with everyone’s written agreement. It would let AI assist with research, document handling, and certain administrative or decision-delivery tasks, while limiting later legal challenges based solely on AI mistakes.
