• Advisory Role: The center will provide guidance on communication and technical aspects of new arms control agreements to the Department of State.
• Technical Assistance: The NNRRC will offer support to foreign governments on their communication systems tied to arms control and confidence-building agreements.
• Linguistic Support: The center will have at least one linguist on duty 24/7 who is proficient in Mandarin Chinese and Russian, and knowledgeable about arms control topics to aid in international communications.
• Coordination Protocols: The NNRRC will establish procedures for working with other government agencies and stakeholders involved in arms control.
• Additional Duties: The Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security can assign other responsibilities to the NNRRC as necessary.
