H.R. 10101: Open Doors to Diplomacy Act

  • other federal agencies that already do workforce outreach at these schools.

Who would be eligible

The bill also broadens one part of Foreign Service recruiting rules so that students who are enrolled at least half-time in higher education institutions can be included, not just students enrolled full-time.

In practical terms, the bill is meant to widen the pool of people who learn about and can pursue Foreign Service jobs. It does not create a new agency or program, and it does not appear to change the basic job duties or standards for Foreign Service hiring.
