Intel Joins Musk’s Terafab AI Chip Project with Tesla, SpaceX, and xAI

April 7 – Intel ($INTC) said Tuesday it will join Elon Musk’s Terafab AI chip complex project alongside SpaceX, Tesla ($TSLA), and xAI. The project includes plans to build advanced semiconductor facilities in Austin, Texas, aimed at supporting artificial intelligence systems, robotics, and space-based data infrastructure.

  • Intel will contribute chip design, fabrication, and packaging capabilities to the Terafab project
  • The facility aims to produce up to 1 terawatt per year of compute capacity for AI and robotics
