GeoVax Reports Q2 2026 Net Loss of $4.4 Million

GeoVax Labs (GOVX) reported a second-quarter 2026 net loss of $4.4 million, or $0.97 per share, compared with a net loss of $5.4 million, or $8.74 per share, in the comparable 2025 period.

The company said it continued preparations for a planned fourth-quarter start of its pivotal GEO-MVA immunobridging study and advanced its Gedeptin immuno-oncology program. Cash was approximately $3.1 million as of June 30, 2026.

  • Revenue No comparable revenue was recognized during the 2026 period after BARDA terminated the GEO-CM04S1 contract for convenience to the government in April 2025.
  • R&D expenses Second-quarter research and development expenses were $3.1 million, down from $4.7 million in the comparable 2025 period.
  • G&A expenses General and administrative expenses were $1.3 million, compared with $1.5 million a year earlier.
  • Programs GeoVax prioritized GEO-MVA, its MVA-based vaccine candidate for mpox and smallpox, and Gedeptin, its investigational gene-directed enzyme prodrug therapy.
