Bain Capital Eyes Major Buyout: Is CCC Intelligent Solutions the Next Big Deal?

Bain Capital is considering an acquisition of CCC Intelligent Solutions (CCCS), a car-insurance software company currently under the control of Advent International. With headquarters in Chicago, CCC Intelligent Solutions is attracting various potential buyers, including Bain, though the final decision remains up in the air. CCC, which offers software solutions to manage car insurance claims, repair estimates, and more, recently saw its stock rise by 2.1%, valuating the company at approximately $7.8 billion.

Advent International, which currently retains 56% of CCC's publicly traded shares, had taken the company public in 2021 through a merger with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

Amid stabilizing interest rates and financing markets, private equity deal-making is surging. If Bain Capital finalizes the acquisition of CCC, it could rank among the most significant buyouts this year. Recent notable deals in the private equity space include Roark Capital's acquisition of Subway for $9.6 billion and GTCR's agreement to purchase the payments division of Fidelity National Information Services (FIS) for about $11.7 billion.

While the prospects of the deal are still under wraps, CCC's potential sale highlights the growing interest and investment activities in the software and tech space. Both Bain and Advent, two significant names in the investment sector, refrained from commenting on the matter, reinforcing the confidential nature of the ongoing discussions.
