America’s Car-Mart Revenue Falls 57.3% in Fiscal First Quarter

America’s Car-Mart (CRMT) reported fiscal first-quarter revenue of $145.8 million for the three months ended July 31, 2026, down 57.3% from a year earlier. The company posted a net loss of $69.0 million, or $8.28 per basic and diluted share.

Retail units sold declined 81.9% to 2,450 as the company managed inventory and originations amid capital constraints. The company said it continues to evaluate financing and strategic alternatives.

  • Sales were $89.9 million, down 67.5%, while interest income fell 14.2% to $55.8 million.
  • Inventory was $35.2 million at July 31, down from $112.5 million a year earlier.
  • SG&A expense totaled $51.6 million, including about $13.7 million in non-recurring charges.
  • Net charge-offs were 9.5% of average finance receivables, compared with 6.6% a year earlier.
  • Total debt was $623.9 million and unrestricted cash was $27.5 million at quarter end.
