Nvidia to Acquire Hugging Face for $12.93 Billion

Nvidia ($NVDA) agreed to acquire AI developer platform Hugging Face for $12.93 billion, expanding its position in open AI models and developer infrastructure. Nvidia said Hugging Face will remain open to competing models, clouds and computing platforms, with Nvidia hardware not required to use the platform.

  • Nvidia will pay approximately $11.9 billion to Hugging Face investors and provide up to $1 billion in equity-based retention awards for employees joining Nvidia.
