Apple Faces Stiff Competition in China as Huawei Gains Ground

Apple (AAPL) foothold in the Chinese smartphone market has noticeably weakened, with the company experiencing a 19% drop in smartphone shipments in China during the first quarter of the year. This downturn represents Apple's worst performance in the region since 2020, coinciding with Huawei's aggressive push into the premium segment with new product launches. As a result, Apple's market share in China dwindled to 15.7%, a significant decline from 19.7% a year earlier.
