Academy Sports Reports Q2 Sales Growth and $2.17 GAAP Diluted EPS

Academy Sports + Outdoors (ASO) reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 net sales of $1.65 billion, up 3.0% from a year earlier, and GAAP net income of $137.9 million. GAAP diluted earnings per share rose 17.3% to $2.17 for the quarter ended August 1, 2026.

Comparable sales declined 0.4%, while eCommerce sales increased 12.8%. The company affirmed its fiscal 2026 sales outlook and raised its GAAP diluted EPS guidance range.

  • Second-quarter GAAP basic EPS was $2.21, compared with $1.89 a year earlier.
  • Year-to-date net sales totaled $3.09 billion, up 4.7%, and net income was $190.6 million.
  • Academy opened three stores in Pennsylvania and Tennessee, ending the quarter with 327 locations.
  • Fiscal 2026 GAAP net sales guidance remains $6.23 billion to $6.36 billion.
  • Fiscal 2026 GAAP diluted EPS guidance was raised to $6.05 to $6.45 from $5.95 to $6.35.
  • The board declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.15 per share, payable October 14, 2026.
