S. 4705: Redirecting Trump Slush Funds to Lower Food Costs Act of 2026

This bill would do two main things:

• Block federal money from being used for certain legal payments connected to the President. It says no federal funds, including money from the Treasury’s Judgment Fund, could be used for a legal settlement if the payment is for the President’s personal or political benefit. It also bars federal money from being used to create or keep any fund or mechanism used to make those kinds of payments, including a fund mentioned in the bill called the Anti-Weaponization Fund.

• Provide $1.776 billion for food assistance. The bill would appropriate that amount to the Secretary of Agriculture to help address high grocery prices by funding the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), which provides food benefits to eligible low-income individuals and families.

In practical terms, the bill would redirect federal resources away from certain settlement-related payments and toward SNAP. It does not change who qualifies for SNAP, but it would give the program additional funding.
